Just a short blog entry today, but something which caught my eye so I though I'd share it. This is a beautiful vintage birthday greetings card, by the artist Maude Scrivener. The postcard features 2 Tortoiseshell butterflies. It was posted in Beckles in 1910, with the written greeting, 'Dear Mrs R, Best wishes for a Happy Birthday and many happy returns. Yours sincerely, Maudie G'. This is not a postcard artist I've come across before but definitely one I shall be keeping an eye open for.Loads more vintage postcards on my web site.

ReplyDeleteMaud Scrivener does a lot of birds as well; can't remember if I've run across anything else. They've all been in color though, so this one surprised me. Great find.
