Vintage birthday greeting postcards

A couple more real photographic, vintage birthday greeting postcards. These are both written to John with love from his grannie. Although the postcards have been written they have not been posted so I'm not sure of their age. They have no publisher name but are numbered 4373 and 4374 respectively.

Lots more vintage birthday greeting postcards on my web site

  3. Wow, I've never seen this kind of collage with graphic elements and photos in a vintage postcard. And such vivid coloring added. I'm betting these are 1920s-30s.

  4. Happy PFF. such great cards. As a mom I would not appreciate a gift of 4 puppies.

  5. I would have thought the 3 year old was a girl, but maybe not. Or maybe a 3 year old John didn't notice!

  6. I've never seen anything like these. They are great. Children has always loved receiving mail, too bad his grandmother didn't mail these.

  7. Very cool cards!

Like Steviewren said, children love receiving mail. I always sent cards to my kids from all my business travels and they knew geography better than most kids at a relatively early age. Whenever the cards came, we looked at the world map and saw where the card was from. At one point I was mailing cards to 20+ kids (mine, nieces/nephews, kids of friends, etc). Writing a quick message to each of them was a good way to pass the time on the plane!

  8. Thanks for all the lovely comments - glad you all liked the postcards. I admit I was a little unseure whether the child on the card to the 3 year old was a boy or a girl, but I guess that probably went unnoticed by Grannie, and probably also the 3 year old.
