Good post again this week Alan, lots for the Sepia Saturday themers to play with. Of all the possibilities liked to your post, I've chosen cats, mainly because the items I had related to the other possible themes all seemed not to be sepia enough. Also, I am a cat-person, and this postcard reminds me of when our 2 cats were newly arrived kittens, with that permanent look of surprise on their faces.
A Happy Family, real photographic vintage postcard published by Wildt and Kray, c.1930
Thanks my friend, I knew you would do the theme justice.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute cat family!
ReplyDeleteDespite the drought it's raining cats and dogs in the North East at the moment. I talk to dogs but there is one cat in my village that will talk to me.
ReplyDeleteFine card on the theme.
I see what you mean about the look of surprise!
ReplyDeleteI love cats too, don't mind a dog so much, but prefer a cat...although I own neither one. Nice photo!!
ReplyDeleteA Bunch Of Very Cool Cats!
ReplyDeleteAw- very cute cats!
ReplyDeleteExcellent cat postcard....love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, those kittens certainly do look surprised!
ReplyDeleteThat one at the bottom looks like a cat that used to roam our neighborhood with that same expression on his face. He was a long haired cat too.
ReplyDeleteWhen did cats first become a photo subject? Dogs show up a lot in early postcards and photos, but cats not so much.
ReplyDeleteRaining cats and dogs here too... Thanks for the reminder about permanently-surprised-looking kittens. Just had a look at some of my cat's kitten pics and he looks just the same - shame I missed the Cat theme :-) Jo
