I'm with Alan on this one in that I have also never been a fisherman. I have a friend who is very much in to it to the extent that he has pictures of fish he has caught on his phone, but it's something that has never really caught my imagination. However, I'm staying on theme for this week's Sepia Saturday with a fishing related vintage postcard.
Vintage postcard of someone fishing
It's so funny I would have thought that Alan (great storyteller and story spinner that he is) would have at least once in a while gone fishing. I do like the postcard you posted for this theme!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lovely postcard it is!
ReplyDeleteA super choice for this weekend with an idyllic scene that almost could be a watercolor. Does the postmark give a date?
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. A beautiful scene - so restful.
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, yes, it's 1908.
ReplyDeleteBut where was that idyllic place? Scotland, Ireland or ??
ReplyDeleteA very nice postcard and perfect for the prompt.
ReplyDeleteHe appears to be fly fishing, an entirely different style of fishing that is so fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteThe title "HOPE" seems fitting, though I'm not sure whether it refers to the fisherman's hopes or something else.
ReplyDeleteLovely postcard.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly lovely, nostalgic postcard!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely postcard.
