My out of focus or blurred submission for this week's Sepia Saturday is a vintage postcard of an old lady. The scanning process seems to have enhanced the exposure somewhat, but even so, it's still not looking quite how I imagine the photographer intended.
Vintage postcard of an old lady
As usual 100's of vintage postcards can be found on my web site
Hmmm...she seems somewhat foreboding in her stance but still there is a sweetness captured in the set dressing and her costume.
ReplyDeleteDo you think the photo faded over time or do you think it was developed that way? I tried to enlarge it but it didn't get very big (Lightbox prevents it). It almost looks like she's in work clothes except for the lace tie around her neck. I think the mat around the photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHer nearest and dearest would have been pleased to have it
ReplyDeleteOh my, I can just make out, I think she's smiling! A great photo for this week's theme. I also like the artwork surround her photo, a very nice detail from the photographer!
ReplyDeleteShe does seem to be smiling, but it appears to be that secret "I know something you don't" sort of smile & I can't help but wonder what it is she knows . . . ?
ReplyDeleteA sweet photo, perhaps a memento of mother?
ReplyDeleteI think she looks very kind.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like she has a secret with her smile!
ReplyDeleteA great choice for the prompt. It is sad to think we know nothing about her, yet this photograph must have meant something to someone. .
ReplyDeleteShe seems to be smiling. It could be a kind smile or she could have just buried the body on the back 40.
ReplyDeleteShe seems a bit camera shy.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to be able to see her better. She has an enticing sneaky smile.
ReplyDeleteI agree with most of the other commenters about her smile. Something mildly devious there, I think.
