I knew I had a least one vintage postcard featuring a doll to share for this week's Sepia Saturday but it took a bit of searching before I eventually found it. This poor child, who I assume is Dutch given the clogs and windmill, is having a hard time trying to stop her doll being taken away by a goose of some sort.
Vintage postcard of Dutch children
As usual 100's more vintage postcards on my web site
I like the look on the little boys face. Its must be a mother goose:-)
ReplyDeleteFor years a group of gooses lived near a canal in Amersfoort. They crossed a busy road a couple of times a day to get food. People living in the neighborhood even made special road sings to warn the drivers. Finally they were removed because it became too dangerous.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you finally found the card. It's cute as can be.

ReplyDeleteA dolly-pinching Dutch goose! The little boy looks quite alarmed :-) Jo
ReplyDeleteThose geese can sure be mean! I can only imagine her fear of her baby becoming food that day.
ReplyDeleteGreat share,

I’m glad you found the card, The expression on the boy’s face is priceless. Later he will get a telling off fom the little girl, for standing idly by whilst a goose ate her dolly.
ReplyDeleteI really like little Dutch children in postcards, they have a special cuteness to them! Great post card! They are having fun showing off her dolly!
ReplyDeleteI hope that an adult happened by and rescued the doll and the kids before the goose decided to give her a bite.
